Founded in 2000 by Jeff Fish in order to create an informational website for his employer at the time, Horticultural Marketing, FishNet has grown to offer more sophisticated websites as well as programming and database solutions, web hosting, and internet marketing. Our focus is on creating more efficient marketing and business tools to reduce your costs, increase customer satisfaction, and improve your bottom line.

Profile

A little about myself: I am 36 years old and live in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada with my beautiful wife and daughter. I started playing with computers as a child on the classic Radio Shack TRS-80 and since slightly upgrading my system I enjoy learning everything that I can about the internet and "what makes it work".

After attending McMaster University, I went to work as a sales rep for a manufacturer's agency, Horticultural Marketing, where I sold, serviced and marketed lawn and garden products for seven years. My interest in web design continued to grow and after being given the opportunity to develop our company's website my passion for IT was realized. As FishNet, as well as information technology, continued to grow I attained a formal programming education in CDI College's Programmer Analyst - Internet Solutions Developer program.

In my spare time I love to exercise and play sports of all kinds, especially Australian football with my club team in Hamilton, the Hamilton Wildcats, and am lucky enough to have been selected as a member of the Canadian National team - Northwind.

  • Website Development
    Experience in HTML/DHTML, ASP, ASP.Net, PHP, ColdFusion, JavaScript, CSS, Flash, SharePoint, SQL Server, MySQL, MS Access, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), internet marketing, and print and web-based images. I pride myself on being able to research and find the best solution for whatever new challenge comes my way.
  • Computer Applications
    Thorough understanding of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator, Flash, Visio and MS Office. Being self-taught in some of these applications allows me to quickly pick up new applications.
  • Programming
    I am proficient in C#, Visual Basic, Java and database normalization allowing me to develop efficient and productive applications. Having experience in other industries helps me to identify areas where technology can help your business gain competitive advantages while saving time and money.
  • Project Development
    Through work experience I have furthered my understanding of the web design and development process. From broad range of clients and my experience as a sales rep I realize the necessity of maintaining successful personal and business relationships with my clients through excellent results and customer service.
